We are happy to announce that one new song has been added to our Myspace playlist, the first in a very long time. The song is called 'New Day' and is one of ten songs that will be on the second album.

Enjoy!

Ginger Trees are in the process of recording, as always. However, we are working on the second album. How or when it will be released is not decided yet. We are looking at some 10 tracks of prog rock, better than anything we've ever done.

We had a photo session last week. Musician-friend Matilda Andersson was photographing, thank you very much!
This is what we look like now, a few minutes before rehearsing, in the beautiful Swedish autumn.

Peace!

We feel it is time for a little update.
We have parted ways with Henri and wish him all the best, we are very thankful for all his contributions and feel at this point it would be impossible to replace him. Ginger Trees will thus continue as a trio.
We have started recording the second album and have reached about half way. We are planning to update myspace with one or two new songs in the near future.

During the past month Came the Morning has become available for download on more and more internet sites. We are happy to announce that the album now at last also has found its way into the iTunes Store! Furthermore you can find the songs on eMusic, Klicktrack and many others.
We have started rehearsing new songs and are in the process of writing some as well, it feels very good and refreshing.
We would like to thank all the lovely people who showed up at Skivspegeln. Where would we be and what would we have done without you? :-)

September 4th 2008

Came the Morning will be out this month! The release gig/party is scheduled to Friday 12th, Dennis who has played organ on five of the songs will be joining us there. We also just found out that Kristin will come along and play violin on 7th Floor Blues. This is an event you don't want to miss out on!

There is really no such thing as a definitive release date :P Little by little the album will appear on internet sites and stores. We will announce here when and how you can get your copy. The first exclusive copies will be reserved for the audience at Skivspegeln.

We decided to sign a deal with Blue Topaz Records in Malmö, an independent label well on its way, we feel. So with this album GT is taking the big step out of the "unsigned" category. We would like to thank Mr. Ohlsson at BTR for having us!

June 8th 2008

We are now finished with Came the Morning, our debut album! Release will be in early September. You will be able to buy the album on CD or as downloads on various internet music stores. We feel like we are taking a big step forward with this much longed for release of nearly one year of studio work. Came the Morning will be a journey for the listener into our hearts and souls leading thru many musical landscapes, taking you somewhere way out.

February 1st 2008

During the darkest period of the year, Ginger Trees has temporarily retired from the public eye as we have focused our energies on recording our debut album. The recording sessions have (in spite of being somewhat scattered) been both productive and gratifying, featuring several guest artists who have respectively enriched the already colourful spectra of sound in the songs. Working title of the album is “Came the Morning”. It will feature reworked versions of some songs that have already been available on this site, together with several previously unheard gems. We are so excited about the album being almost finished, we’ve certainly put our whole hearts to making it. Release date? We’ll get back to you on that one…

After long hours in the studio we’re of course more than eager to return onstage. Several festival gigs are booked for the summer and the next chance to see GT will be at Jord in Gothenburg, 18/2.

We're delighted to announce that Jonte "Skägget" Johansson has recently joined the band. Having a bass guitarist who also lives in Borås all the band members are for the first time ever residing in the same city, which feels like a big step forward for us!

We have parted ways with our long-term bass guitarist Fredrik. We would like to thank him for all the good times and wish him good luck with whatever endeavors he may undertake.

Reviews on Myspace.com. The reviews are in Swedish so far.

"Jag visste ingenting om bandet innan, ändå kände jag på mig att de skulle spela rock. Men när de var klara med sitt framträdande var det något speciellt med dem som gjorde att det inte blev vanlig tråk-rock, utan jag skulle vilja få lov att kalla deras genre för slö barkrock. Enligt mig innebär den genren sköna grooves, en naturlig stil (bokstavligt talat), som bara Ginger Trees kan hantera." -Ida Sandell. (Från en spelning på Parkaden, Borås 2 dec 2006.)

Should we say we were pretty astounded when we found out that one of gingertrees.se's visitors, a young artist (painter) from Switzerland had made a painting based on Henris song "She Will Grow Beautiful", and what a beautiful piece of art it was!
